How did a 24 year old Registered Nurse fall in love with Finance? Well, it didn’t happen all at once…

I started when I learned about Robinhood a free brokerage that let you buy and sell stocks. Of course at first I didn’t even know what a stock was. What does it do? How do I use it? I can make money doing this? So many questions and so little answers. I did not have someone to teach me, enlighten me, or guide me along this path. So what did I do? I made mistakes, I took the time to learn, and every day whether it be through social media, YouTube, Google, you get the idea; I kept educating myself on the subject. To keep it short, I made some mistakes along the way but learned a whole lot to get to where I am today. My hope is to teach others not only before they can make any of the mistakes I did, but also to teach how important finance is for their future. I also learned that in the healthcare field there is very little knowledge on the subject of finance. The sad part is the company/hospital you work for will not try to help you through this process. My personal thoughts are they never really want you to retire so why give you any extra knowledge you may need to help you. Anyways, it is my firm belief and goal that all healthcare workers should understand the basics of finance to secure a well-deserved retirement.
